Knitwear for Maternity Photography
There are moments in life that deserve more than ordinary clothing.
Moments that will be photographed, remembered and revisited for years.
After more than ten years spent working alongside photographers through UFFSTORE in the world of newborn and maternity photography, one of the most beautiful things about beginning this new journey with SoniaDI has been seeing many longtime clients enthusiastically embrace this evolution into knitwear.
Very naturally, some of them began asking for pieces that could also become part of their maternity sessions — garments capable not only of dressing a person, but of adding atmosphere, softness and visual depth to an image.
For this particular maternity editorial, a completely white garter knit sweater was chosen.
In maternity photography, neutral tones are often essential. They allow light, skin, emotion and texture to remain at the center of the image without distraction. White, especially when combined with soft natural fibers, creates a timeless and luminous presence that feels delicate yet powerful.
The generous volume of the sweater and its balloon sleeves naturally follow the soft shapes of pregnancy, creating movement and balance inside the frame. Rather than constricting the body, the knitwear gently accompanies it.

What makes these images especially refined is also the quality of the materials and construction behind the garment itself. The precious alpaca blend, combined with the meticulous precision of the garter stitch workmanship, creates a texture that reacts beautifully to photographic light — rich, airy and deeply dimensional.
This is something photography has taught me over the years: texture changes an image completely.
It adds depth. Atmosphere. Emotion.
And perhaps this is why seeing SoniaDI pieces become part of such meaningful moments feels so natural to me.
Because SoniaDI was never created only for everyday dressing.
It was also created for presence, memory and atmosphere.
For garments that quietly become part of moments people will carry with them forever.
